This book will be an engaging read for any Gilmore Girls fan, but it’s also a powerful and impactful story in its own right, regardless of Kelly Bishop's connection to the beloved TV show.

It was lovely to hear her recall her character Emily’s famous lines from the show and share her first impressions of those in the cast. However, the true heart of the memoir lies in the way she opens up about her personal journey, offering readers far more than just behind-the-scenes anecdotes.

Personally, I did not have a significant amount of knowledge about the true extent of Bishop’s work in the industry so it was interesting to learn about her love for the ballet and discover other shows to add to my watchlist.

The book is filled with Bishop’s deep passion for life, balanced by a raw and honest exploration of grief and loss.

I am always appreciative when people speak about their grief candidly. It’s not easy to do and the author does not owe us that candour.
